At this time i'm already a little over 4 ½ inches in length and weighs about 2 ½- 3 ounces. That's about as big as an avocado. I now have fine lanugo hair that covers my body and head. When I get an ultrasound mommy will findout if i'm a girl or boy (tho mom believes i'm a little princess) and she can also see me move and possibly my sucking reflex as your I suck my thumb. I move, swallow and I can now hear mommy's voice that's why i'm more excited to come out and be with mommy. In this picture, I'm 8 weeks and 5 days old and towards my 3rd month in my mommy's tummy. As you can see, I am already what you call a fetus. My head is still large in proportion to my body but my face is beginning to assume recognizable characteristics. My limbs have already developed and now possess joints. I can already make very small movements - however, mommy can't feel it yet. You can already recognize my arms and legs at the end of which, small clefts have begun to separate into fingers and toes; My heartbeat is circulating newly found blood cells throughout my body; My intestines are almost completely formed and my liver and kidneys are developed but are small and not yet capable of functioning; My brain and spinal cord have grown rapidly and are almost complete with the exception of the nerves to the limbs.<br /><br />In a few more weeks, a lot of new things will develop in my body which will allow me to make my presence more felt to my mommy. I can't wait to be with mommy so I can see the smile on her face as she puts me to sleep.<br /><br />*Yawn* I'm getting sleepy now. Good night.
